Matt Colledge from IntoPlaces makes the case for a second High Streets Task Force

Why we need a new High Streets Task Force

posted in: 2026, News | 0

IntoPlaces Director Matt Colledge has co-authored a new article for The High Street Consultancy exploring the case for a successor to the High Streets Task Force.

Written with fellow High Street Consultancy Partner Ben Stephenson, the article reflects on the impact of the original programme and argues that towns and high streets would benefit from a new national initiative offering dedicated support, specialist expertise and long-term guidance.

Matt brings a unique perspective to the discussion, having served both as an Expert with the High Streets Task Force and later as its Project Director. His experience of supporting places across England informs the article’s assessment of what worked, what was learned and what should happen next.

IntoPlaces Director Sonia Cubrilo was also one of the High Streets Task Force Experts for its full duration from 2019 to 2024.
